Authoring Environment


The Authoring Environment is where you will build and author your course. The page is broken into three main columns:

  • Components– This column contains the different sections available for building your course structure.
  • Structure– This column displays the outline of your course and allows you to add additional pages within each section. It also allows you to navigate from section to section by clicking on the section names.
  • Content and Preview– This column is where you can enter and preview content for each section of your course.

You have the option to expose or hide the Components section by clicking the Collapse button.

 

Additional Tools are available to you located at the top right of the page:

The Wrench icon allows you to access your “Course Tools.” The following tools are housed there:

  • Checklist/Pre-Publish
  • Invite a Reviewer
  • Assign Users
  • Import Course
  • Export Course
  • Download Course as PDF
  • Copy Course

Sections will auto-save if you move on to another section; however, there is a “Save” button at the top of the page. We highly recommend saving periodically while you are authoring a course.
